About us

Sarphati is the study association for students of Human Geography and Urban Planning at the University of Amsterdam. Sarphati originated in 2009 from two merged study associations; the 'ASVS' (human geography) and 'Het Groene Hart' (urban planning). Since its founding, it has grown into a vibrant, involved, accessible and entrepreneurial association with approximately 650 members.

Sarphati is a study association for all students of Human Geography and Planning at the University of Amsterdam. This includes the following programs: 

* Bachelor Human Geography and Urban Planning
* Master Human Geography
* Master in Urban and Regional Planning
* Master of International Development Studies (IDS)
* Master of Spatial Sustainability Studies
* Research Masters IDS, Social Sciences and Urban Studies

Students of interdisciplinary studies specializing in a human geography or urban planning subject are also welcome to join our association!
