Welcome to the 'Career' section. Because of the interdisciplinary view on (spatial) issues, Human Geography & Planning students can actually be deployed anywhere. Usually they continue after their studies with interesting spatial careers as urban planning consultant, researcher at a consultancy firm, program manager at an NGO, project developer at a real estate organization or as a geography teacher.

Please note the following! Most companies and organisations in the field of Human Geography and Planning use Dutch as their primary language. When possible, we have translated the Dutch information into English ourselves. However, be aware that Dutch skills will usually be required.​

Therefor, if you are considering staying in the Netherlands and perhaps wish to persue a career here - which of course we hope you will :-) - we highly recommend learning Dutch. If you start early on, you will be surprised at how far you can come!

  The Career Committee organizes great events for the members of Sarphati every year. At the inhouse days, interesting companies from the field are visited. And at the networking events you can get to know a wide range of companies both formally and informally.
