Iris Blaak and Jacqueline Naaborg are the student advisors for the Human Geography and Planning program. Looking for the study advisor for the Master's programs? Look on the dedicated page for Master Students.
Jacqueline joined the program team in November 2021. She also has a coaching practice where she helps young people make appropriate study and career choices. Jacqueline has lived in The Hague for many years, in Spain for several years and now lives in the municipality of Castricum with her husband and two children.
Iris has been working as a study advisor since October. Before this, she was active at the International Office of the FGw, where she coordinated exchange programs and international internships. As a student, Iris had a great time at the University of Amsterdam; she completed the Research Master's in Cultural Analysis. Iris lives in Amsterdam with her three-year-old twin daughters, Hade & Zora. In addition to her job at the UvA, Iris enjoys reading and occasionally writes a story or essay.
As study advisors, we represent the interests of students. We do this by providing management advice behind the scenes, e.g. on studyability, welfare or the importance of physical education. We hold discussions to help make students aware of the opportunities offered by the program and to pay attention to personal development during your studies.
We are happy to help you with questions about your study progress and study planning, as well as if there are personal circumstances that affect your studies. The student advisors will think along with you, advise you and refer you to them where necessary. You are always welcome to see the study advisor! Mail to [email protected] or make an appointment.
